Feature
Mac system stats, beside your Dock
Watch live CPU, memory, disk, and network usage in a Liquid Glass widget beside your Dock, not squinting at a tiny menu-bar graph. docktor's system stats are free and notarized for macOS 26.
The four numbers, where you can see them
Most of the time you don’t need every sensor on the board — you need to know if the CPU is pegged, if memory is under pressure, if the disk is thrashing, or if the network is saturated. docktor graphs the one or two you choose (CPU by default), live, in a widget beside the Dock, and hovering it shows the rest. No tiny menu-bar graph to squint at.
Honest about what it isn’t
docktor is a glance, not a diagnostics suite. It shows GPU use where available and keeps a stats history you can chart over up to 7 days and export as CSV, but it doesn’t read fan speeds or per-sensor temperatures (only the GPU’s, where macOS reports it). If that depth is what you’re after, a dedicated menu-bar monitor is the better fit — there’s an honest side-by-side on the iStat Menus alternative page and a three-way look at iStat Menus vs Stats.
Part of a native macOS 26 app
The stats widget is rendered in Liquid Glass, matching macOS 26, and it shares the space by your Dock with music, calendar, and weather. It’s free, notarized, and doesn’t ask for an account — the numbers just show up next to everything else you glance at.
Frequently asked questions
- What system stats does docktor show?
- The ones you actually watch day to day: CPU load, used memory (or memory pressure), disk usage and read/write speed, and network throughput, plus GPU use where your Mac reports it — all updating live. The widget next to the Dock graphs one or two stats you choose (CPU by default), and hovering it shows the rest, so you can read them at a glance without squinting at the menu bar.
- Does docktor read temperatures, fan speeds, or GPU usage?
- GPU usage, yes, where available, along with the GPU's temperature when macOS reports it. Temperatures and fan speeds otherwise, no, and I'd rather say that plainly. docktor covers the everyday glance, plus a stats history with charts up to 7 days and CSV export, not deep hardware diagnostics. If you need per-sensor temperatures or fan control, a dedicated monitor like iStat Menus or the open-source Stats is the right tool.
- Why put stats by the Dock instead of the menu bar?
- Menu-bar monitors cram graphs into a few pixels of a crowded bar. docktor gives the numbers real room in a Liquid Glass widget by the Dock, where there's space to actually read them — and where your music, calendar, and weather already live.
- Is the stats widget free?
- Yes. docktor is free and notarized by Apple, no account or license required. System stats come with the rest of the app — Dock previews, a window switcher, and music, calendar, and weather widgets.
